Empowering Adults
We have had an amazing first half of the year working with participants, Life Advocates, churches, community organizations, and potential employers. We continue to see astonishing success for participants who complete the full 12-14 weeks of engagement with our Life Advocates!
Some of the key activities we have participated in thus far in 2019 include:
- Wooddale Church’s Summer Missions Festival
- Annual Juneteenth Celebration in North Minneapolis
- Church Of God In Christ Annual Assembly
- The Assemblies of God Leadership Conference
- The People of Color Job Fair
- Northside “FLOW” Community Fair
Wooddale Church’s Summer Missions Festival
Empowering Adults initiated its Northside Summer Outreach Campaign with the objective to reach 15 churches in North Minneapolis while listening/sharing with the broader community to identify opportunities for UpWorks to further engage. During the month of July, we met with seven pastors, three community organizations, and engaged in deepening relationship with primary nonprofit partners.

UpWorks continues to grow deeper in the “North Side” community as it develops the program, challenges include time management, choosing the right partners, staying focused on our mission and vision while being a good neighbor.
